Albany Options School provides opportunities in alternative education for students who are working below or above state benchmark standards. These opportunities include transitional programs, credit-recovery programs, higher-education courses and education through contracted services.
We Are Proud To Offer...
Albany Online
Allowing students to complete coursework online. The program is limited to students who, because of special circumstances or expulsion, need alternative means of completing courses. Enrollment is limited to two courses at a time. Students must maintain their own computer equipment, Internet connection and e-mail address.
Community Services Consortium
A private program providing transitional services for middle and high school students. Classes are held in Albany's Two Rivers Market building. School counselors refer students to the Principal for this program.
Dual Enrollment / College Now
Allowing students to earn college and high school credit for work completed at their resident high school or at a college. Students may register for dual enrollment at their high school or through the Principal. Students may register for College Now at their high school.
GED Program
Providing study and testing that lead to a GED high-school equivalency certificate at Linn-Benton Community College. School counselors and administrators refer students to the GED program.
Albany Options School
Providing transitional services for middle and high school students. Students attend school on a shortened schedule in classes that range in size from 6 to 15 students. School administrators refer students to the Principal for this program.
Tutoring
Offering individualized instruction for students who need specialized assistance or who cannot attend the regular school program because of illness, expulsion or other factors. Tutoring for one hour per day replaces a full day of instruction. Students are referred for tutoring by counselors, administrators or the district's student services director.
